Boxerwood, the legacy of Robert S. Munger (1911-1988), is situated in Lexington, Virginia. It consists of 31 acres of rolling Shenandoah Valley.

Boxerwood is both a Nature Center and a Woodland Garden.  The site contains six distinct habitats and 15 acres of mature, naturalistically planted trees and shrubs, featuring both native and unusual plant specimens.

The Boxerwood Education Association sponsors many educational programs, special events, and community activities in order to further our mission: to educate and inspire people of all ages toward becoming successful and environmentally responsible stewards of the earth.

Most of Boxerwood's education programs take place on site.  Others are at local schools and river locations.  We are in the Chesapeake Bay watershed and many of our activities focus on its protection.
